Dr. Cassandra Wood
Board Certified and Residency Trained Optometrist
Dr. Wood is an Illinois native who loves serving the River Valley population. She completed a Bachelor of Science in chemistry in 2016 from Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, IL. She is a proud trumpet alumni of the NIU Huskie Marching Band. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Optometry in 2020 from University of Houston College of Optometry in Houston, TX. During her time there, she participated in rotations at the University of Houston Subspecialty Clinic in Houston, TX, Oak Hill Eye Care in Austin, TX, and Northeastern State University College of Optometry and Rural Eye Programs in Tahlequah, OK. After graduating, she completed a 1-year residency in Pediatric Optometry and Visual Rehabilitation from Arkansas Vision Development Center in Fort Smith, AR.
Dr. Wood is passionate about family eye care and childhood myopia management. She is qualified to fit specialty contacts and enjoys challenging cases.
In her spare time, Dr. Wood enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, Louis, and their kitties, Reggie, Henry, Paul, and Patches. She is a cat lover and is known to feed neighborhood strays. She enjoys playing trumpet and is a member of the River Valley Community Band. On the weekends she likes to relax by gardening, watching TV, doing puzzles, and spend the day golfing.
